Happily, most pregnancies and births are trouble-free. But for some women there is the worry of an unplanned pregnancy, the despair of post-natal depression, or the emotional trauma following a miscarriage or abortion.
Confidential service
|
Often, it helps just to talk. But many women in these situations don't know who they can turn to. They have no-one they can rely on to listen in a caring, supportive way, and no guarantee of confidentiality.
The Falkirk Pregnancy Centre provides a resource where women in crisis can talk, in confidence, with experienced counsellors. The counselling helps women make informed chioices about their life situation, and not be pressurised or panicked into sudden decisions.
Our service is based on Christian commitment, insight and values. This means that we acknowledge the uniqueness and value of each individual and their right to make their own life choices. It does not mean that we require our callers to share our faith.
Counselling is therefore offered on a non-judgmental basis and without regard to gender, ethnic origin, religious belief or value system.
Counselling appointments can be made by calling the centre on 01324 670 600 between 10am and 1pm Monday to Friday.
Morning, afternoon and evening appointments are available by arrangement at our offices in Camelon and in Stirling.
The service is free of charge.
Referrals are welcome from all sources including health professionals, local churches and other agencies, and from clients themselves.
We have a team of experienced and suitably qualified counsellors who receive regular supervision and support in their counselling work. Many of our counsellors also have nursing qualifications.
